I visited Guatemala on a solo trip last November and absolutely fell in love with this beautiful country. I love traveling through Latin America and have done most of South America, some of Central America, and a bit of the Caribbean as well. If Guatemala isn’t on your list, I highly recommend adding it right now (go ahead, I’ll wait). While there aren’t many things I’d change about my trip to Guatemala, I would change how I packed because I definitely didn’t pack the right way. The good news for you is that I am putting all of my lessons learned into the ultimate Guatemala packing list.  This post may contain affiliate links. I am obsessed with Latin America. Yes, the entire region. I’ve extensively traveled through South America, parts of Central America, and the Caribbean and I can’t get enough. Each country has so much to offer from food, to culture, to wine, to coffee (duhh), to history…I can go on and on. Guatemala is no exception. There are so many reasons why I decided to visit this country on a solo trip back in November but one of the main reasons is because I read that it was a vegetarian’s paradise. Food = my one true love. I’m such a foodie and any country that has a ton of vegetarian options is immediately high on my list. I’m so glad I went because it definitely lived up to the veggie friendly reputation and the food was fantastic, especially in Antigua (the focus of this blog post). Buckle up because we are…

I can barely put into words how much I love Georgia. Seriously. It’s hands down my favorite country. The food, the wine, the people, the landscape, it truly has it all. I have had it on my bucket list for years. I even wrote my master’s thesis on wine and tourism in Georgia (did you know it’s the birthplace of wine!?) hoping I would get to go and do some field research during the summer of 2020. Of course, as you know, that didn’t happen. I finally got to visit this year for my birthday and it was everything I could have hoped for and more! Plus, my (now) fiance proposed there!! It’ll definitely always have a special place in my heart and I am so excited (lies. I’m positively giddy) to share about my favorite wineries in Georgia. Ever since I moved to Boston two years ago, I’ve been slowly but surely exploring different parts of New England. I’m honestly not sure how long we are going to stay in Boston so I’m trying to take advantage as much as possible of living in this beautiful region of the United States. On Monday, my fiancé and I decided to make an impromptu trip to Newburyport. In this blog post, I’m covering everything we did on our trip, some tips / lessons learned, restaurant options (veggie friendly!) and things on our list for next time. Is Newburyport worth a visit? But first, is Newburyport worth a visit? Honestly, I always ask myself this question for any place I visit as there. There is so much to see and do in New England so it’s important to prioritize. After visiting, I absolutely think Newburyport is worth a visit. There is…

I remember the first time I went to Greece back in 2014. I had just graduated from university and was embarking on a month-long European adventure, starting with Greece. The minute I stepped foot in Athens I was awestruck. Everything I read in a textbook was suddenly in front of my eyes and it was better than I could have ever imagined. With ancient history juxtaposed against a vibrant, modern city, I was instantly hooked. And of course, my fascination only increased as I explored the picturesque Greek islands. I knew I would be back again. And sure enough, since 2014 I’ve been back 3 times and we’re even planning our wedding there next year! Greece is easily one of my favorite countries. The traditional Greek cuisine, the wine, the history, the people, the sunsets…the list is endless. There are 227 inhabited Greek islands in addition to the mainland. I could basically spend the rest of my life exploring this magnificent country. Most first timer’s guides to Greece are going to include the island of Santorini. It’s an insanely popular destination for a reason. The caldera views are jaw dropping, the buildings whitewashed, and everywhere you turn has you pinching yourself and going “I’m sorry, but is this real life?”. The problem is that because it’s so popular it can be very crowded which can really take away from the experience. Don’t worry I got you. I’m going to share with you some of favorite things to do and general tips to avoid the crowds in this Santorini travel guide.  Is Santorini worth visiting? But…

I’ve made quite the packing journey as a traveler. I went from overpacking massive suitcases that needed to be checked in to traveling with just one bag – a carry-on backpack. It’s made a world of difference in how I travel and I can safely say, I’m never going back to packing any other way. Of course, this travel style isn’t for everyone but if you’re looking to pack more minimally, and effortlessly move from place to place, keep reading. This post covers the basics of traveling with a backpack (including my answer to the question above: “Can you use a backpack as a carry on?”) + my recent trip to Portugal where I packed for 10 days in the Minaal 3.0. Can you use a backpack as a carry on? The short answer is yes. Of course, each airline has size limits and maximum dimensions for a carry-on item…
