My Take on Greece
What I’ve learned from exploring Greece 7+ times
- Best Time to Visit: May–June & September–October (warm weather, fewer crowds)
- Travel tip: Greece is more than just the islands—don’t overlook the mainland. Regions like the Peloponnese offer incredible food, history, and fewer tourists
- What Surprised Me the Most: Athens is completely slept on. Most people only stay a night or two to check off the historic sites—but that’s a mistake. This city is made for wandering, slow days at cafés, and soaking in the energy
- One Thing I Always Recommend: Pick fewer places and stay longer. Island hopping sounds fun, but moving every two days is exhausting and cuts into the experience
- Transportation Real Talk: On most islands, renting a car is the easiest way to explore. Ferries are convenient, but be prepared for occasional delays or cancellations
- One More Thing: Greece isn’t a place you visit just once. With so much variety, it’s worth coming back to explore more deeply. You don’t need to see everything in one trip
