Ah, Paris. There’s something incredibly magical about this city. No matter how many times I visit, I fall in love with it all over again. With the charm and appeal of the various arrondissements (districts of Paris), it can be hard to narrow down where to stay in Paris. Luckily, I stumbled upon La Maison Favart, located in the 2nd arr. and it was the perfect home base from which to explore the city.
(I was welcomed as a guest at La Maison Favart. As always, all opinions are my own)
Where to Stay in Paris
Why Stay in the 2nd Arrondissement?
If you’re looking for a district a bit more off the beaten path but still centrally located, the 2nd arrondissement is where to stay in Paris. There’s a lot to be seen in this area such as the Opéra Comique and La Tour Jean-Sans-Peur while still being located near other top sights such as the Louvre, the Opera Garnier, and artsy Montmartre. By metro it’s easy to get to the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and other top must see sights for a first time visit to Paris.
About La Maison Favart
Tucked away on a quiet street, La Maison Favart is the perfect oasis nestled in the middle of bustling Paris.
I’m a sucker for a great boutique hotel. They just have so much more charm and attention to detail in comparison to larger hotels. La Maison Favart is no exception. The hotel is located in a building that dates back to 1824 and boasts decor from this decade. The moment you step into the lobby, you immediately feel transported back in time. It may be one of my favorite lobbies.
My Experience Staying at La Maison Favart
Exceptional Service
After a long day of traveling, we loved coming to this hotel. La Maison Favart prides itself in helping its guests feel right at home while they take care of all the details. And they excel in this aspect. The service here is top notch. Anything we needed was quickly taken care of and they helped us arrange a few tours we were interested in. As someone who is constantly planning trips, it was so nice to have someone else take the reins for a bit. I’ll admit it, I’m a control freak (but that’s a different story)
Cozy Bedrooms
With the chill of fall in Paris, we really appreciated our cozy hotel rooms. Each room in La Maison Favart is uniquely decorated pulling from different inspirations from the 18th century. Our room was surprisingly larger than I expected, a rarity in Europe. I seriously fell asleep the moment my head hit the pillow, the bed was that enticing and comfortable.
The Breakfast is the Perfect Start to the Day
One of my favorite parts of our stay was breakfast. The hotel has a well-decorated breakfast area that is Instagram worthy by itself. As someone who isn’t a huge breakfast person, I appreciated the light spread of pastries, freshly baked bread, fruit, and coffee. The best part is that you also have the option of getting the breakfast delivered to you room. We decided to spend one morning having our breakfast in bed and I think this is the only way I want to have breakfast now. Seriously, why do we ever leave our beds??
Spa Area in the Basement
I saved the best part for last. The basement of La Maison Favart has a thoughtfully created spa area. There’s a small gym, a couple of saunas, a massage room, and my favorite, a relaxation pool. I love the emphasis on wellness and relaxation, something I think we all need a little more of in our life!
Final Thoughts
I seriously loved every part of our stay at La Maison Favart. With their attention to detail and high-quality service combined with the location, it is the ideal hotel. If you’re looking for where to stay in Paris, look no further!
