  1. If you’re a real wine drinker then do not miss out on Ravines Wine Cellars either, easily some of the highest quality wine in the finger lakes region and especially exquisite riesling .

  2. Good to know!! Thanks for adding the comment. I’ll definitely check it out next time I’m there

  3. Having made six previous tasting trips to the Finger Lakes for my annual October vacation, and going again this year, a few recommendations of my own:
    – Kemmeter Vineyards: Reservations are required for tastings, and they only sell their wine at the winery, but the quality of the wines and the tasting experience are well worth it.
    – Red Tail Ridge: This winery has built a large new tasting room; their wines are high quality, and they are putting real investment in their sparkling wines, which are excellent.
    – Domaine LeSeurre and Weis Vineyards: Both are on Keuka Lake and right next to each other, and both have good wines. The former offers food and wine experiences; the latter is only wine but does not require reservations.
    – Forge Cellars: I would actually avoid the winery itself – too pretentious – but if you find their wines in a shop, especially their Classique, they are worth purchasing.
Finally, a restaurant/wine bar recommendation: Pintxo in Canandaigua. They are very new, and I have not actually been there yet, but the sommelier at Pintxo, Thera Clark, is from Hermann J. Wiemer and I got to interact with her in my tastings there. So I expect it will be an enjoyable dining experience.
